Expedition tiger hill
This all happened one night,
sitting by the bedside on one of the nights in our paying guest famously known as "villa".
We started talking abt our stay in darj.
then as the talk moved on we came to know that none of us have visited tiger hill.
A famous tourist site in darj.
then we decided to visit it,that too walking.
Mind you its a long walk if u ask me.
but still we came to a conclusion that we will visit it on dec 3 sunday.
As Mimoh and I had classes all the other days.
So on sat 2nd we did a small shopping and bought everything needed for the journey.
Four of us had decided to go there namely.
Niten,Tenzing,Mimoh and ofcourse me.
We only had one problem no one knew way to tiger hill.
Im telling this not as a joke if someone tells u he have heard a way to reach there or will ask a fren to help him know the way then trust me not to trust that person coz ill tell u what happens.
The very day thats is 3rd dec 2006, we all woke up at 1am. Full of enthusiasm and excitement.
After finishing the regular duty of brushin teeth and all we got ready for the trip.
we started at abt 1:45 am.
We took the safest way to reach Jorebunglow
i.e via the main road. they say that there is a short cut but none of us knew the way.
so we reached Ghoom railway station at 3am.
till then we had stopped a couple of place to take some food which we have carried.
Reaching Ghoom was easy now the problem arouse as to which path we should opt for.
there one amongst us stood up and directed the way
we followed him thinking that he knew the way but we were all wrong and it was his guess.
anyways we were in in restricted area at around 2 am in the morning
we were in the army area,
still we thought we were in the right palce and took a good look around.
we roamed the restricted area, the army mess area and all such places.
finally after an hour of wild goose chase we came to the entrance gate of the army camp then the officer informed us that we were headin the wrong direction and showed us the right way
but for that we had to go to the place frm where we had started our trip at Ghoom which was an hour long road.
anyways we finally reached the place.
by the time we reached ther it was 4:30 and we could see some ppl on the road.
so we asked them the way for confirmation and to avoid further confusion.
there we came to know we had to walk further an hour to reach the place.
stillwe walked as we had decided to reach there walking
my body was aching my legs were crying no more of this but still we continued to walk.
we reached tiger after a strenious walk of abt 4 hrs.
we reached ther at 5 am
sun had still not rose oops tiger hill is famous for its sun rise.
but it was damn chilli up there.
we had to take coffee just to keep ourself warm.
but after all this hard task we failed to see the sun rise as the fog covered everything unlucky us but lucky enough to see other things.
after all this things way back home seemed much easier any ways this was one heck of a trip to be remembered
such hardships and gettin lost early in the morning
tryin to find new short cuts and all that...
it really was great
